Bangladesh: Heavy Rains Bring Landslides, Floods

As of 12 June, the monsoon remains very active in most parts of Bangladesh. Weather forecasts indicate possibilities of continuation of a very active monsoon system over the north-eastern part of the country and some of the north-eastern states of India (Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura) for the next 3 to 5 days. The present flash flood situation over the sub-region is likely to deteriorate further.
