Country overview

Cuba is a Caribbean island between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, 150 km south of Key West, Florida. The terrain is mostly flat to rolling plains, with rugged hills and mountains in the southeast.



Climate overview

Tropical; moderated by trade winds; dry season (November to April); rainy season (May to October). Hot, sub-tropical all year round. Rainfall is heavier in the north than in the south, with rainfall mainly in May-October period and possible hurricanes between August and November. November to April are cooler months.
